Lasell’s annual Family, Friends, and Alumni weekend was held from Friday, Oct. 17, to Sunday, Oct. 19.
The weekend consisted of many engaging events for all to enjoy, starting with a welcome dinner at Teresa’s Ristorante Bar & Pizzeria.
“I was so excited to see my family after three months, and we all enjoyed the events that Lasell planned!” sophomore Liam Watson said.
Saturday saw fall sports play during the day, including women’s volleyball, field hockey, and both men’s and women’s soccer in action. The women’s soccer team also hosted its yearly senior ‘pink-out’ in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Alumni teams also came together to play for Team Laser once again.
Boomer’s Market, which showcased many different clubs and organizations from our campus and what they have to offer, was held on Saturday, featuring Studio 1851 and a large number of Lasell clubs and activities, such as the Student Government Association, Honor Program, and Council, and Laser-Con, which is the university’s comic book club.
“I really enjoyed the pumpkin painting, I thought it was a really cute event for families,” said freshman Julia Swett.
Though there were some changes from the previous family, friends, and alumni weekends, there were still many fun things to do and enjoy, like Bingo and trivia. At Arnow Quad, the vibes were out of this world. The annual CAB Bingo, held during Lasell’s Family, Friends, and Alumni Weekend, brought together students, parents, and alumni for one of the most packed events of the fall.

The check-in line stretched across Arnow Campus Center as families and friend groups waited to grab their bingo cards, complemented by glow sticks, finger foods, and the sweet smell of toasted marshmallows from the s’mores station. The energy was truly electric, harvesting the kind of cozy fall night that makes campus feel like home when you need it the most.
Between laughs, snacks, and the quick and consistent shouts of “BINGO!” that echoed across the fire stands and rows of tables, we caught up with most of the night’s lucky winners to hear about their wins, favorite moments, and who they’re sharing their prizes with.
The night’s first winner, sophomore Sadie Whitmarsh, described her moment in three words: “Comfy, sleepy, win.” short, sweet, and very fitting for the vibes post mid-terms week. Between the glow sticks and the friendly competition, the Arnow Quad was truly transformed into a mini festival, one that captured what makes Lasell’s community so special!
It didn’t go unnoticed that a CAB E-Board member won at the very event CAB hosted.
“I would give it to Mandy… Mandy is life in CAB,” senior Grace Holden passionately expressed, making it quite clear that, even in victory, CAB love runs deep.
When it came to the parents, their reactions to winning were truly just as entertaining as the prizes and displayed totally different approaches to victory. Bethany, one of the night’s parent winners, was humored when asked if she planned to keep her prize: “I’ll give it to my son — he needs dorm essentials much more than I do. He’s a junior.” Looks like her son’s dorm setup just got a free, unexpected upgrade, every college student’s dream.
Family, Friends, and Alumni Weekend was a great success, though some people missed the apple picking and river day events; it was still a wonderful time.
