On Monday, April 13, Lasell University’s Campus Activities Board (CAB) launched its 2026 Spring Week. The week was full of fun summer-themed activities, including Stuff-A-Plush, a paint night, Beach Bingo, a drag show, and the annual Spring Week concert.
The planning for this week began at the beginning of the spring semester and was a months-long effort from the entire CAB team. Sophomore Samantha Carvelli, next year’s Vice President of Tunes, Tournaments, and Trips, explained, “We had a bunch of different themes we wanted, at least four different ones.
“We all voted on which one everyone agreed with, and that’s how we got our beach theme.”
The week began with Stuff-A-Plush on Monday. Students gathered in the Arnow Campus Center to grab a plush and stuff an animal companion of their choosing.
The plushes offered this season were a butterfly, a rabbit, a duck, a dolphin, an octopus, and a stingray. The Stuff-APlush was followed by a coastal Paint and Sip event where students painted ocean-inspired scenes while sipping on summer mocktails.
Bingo was offered on Wednesday in de Witt Hall and was a hit among students. The tables were full as students competed to win summer-themed prizes that included speakers, picnic materials, and even a whitewater rafting gift card.
This semester’s game also included new mini-games that were played between each round of Bingo.
The idea came from first-year AJ Boryczka, who is taking over the position of Vice President of Play to Win next school year. They came up with the idea after being inspired by summer camp games.
“I thought it would be fun to have something in the middle and get people to come up, especially in big groups,” Boryczka said. “Having people go up and participate and you have people cheering for you, I think that builds a lot of school spirit.”
The week’s activities continued with a drag show on Thursday in de Witt Hall. The show was hosted by drag queen Brae the Fallen and featured performances from CeCe Knight Jones, Victoria Obvious, Silva, and Lulu Levity.
Each queen performed two songs with plenty of crowd participation and cheering. Six members of the audience were invited on stage with Brae to try their hand at a drag performance, which the audience loved.
The annual spring concert capped off Spring Week, which was organized by Vice President of Tunes, Tournaments and Trips, Jenna Sargent, and featured opener Goozbb and headliner SoFaygo. SoFaygo performed songs such as “Off the Map” and “Knock Knock” at one of the most highly attended concerts held in Lasell history.
This year’s spring concert was the first to be held on a Monday. The day coincided with the Boston Marathon, so students were treated to a day full of activities. Originally, the performance was set to take place outside in the Arnow Quad, but was relocated to the Athletic Center a week before the event.
Carvelli shared that the location change was a decision made to ensure “the safety of the students and more safety towards our artist[s].”
This move allowed for more security precautions to be put in place and better crowd control for CAB. The week was a great success for CAB and went smoothly for the organization.
Students who may not have loved the lineup of activities are urged by CAB members to reach out and share their ideas for weeks similar to this one.
CAB looks forward to next year’s activities as it finishes up for the year and passes on its leadership positions to underclassmen. CAB’s 2026 Spring Week wraps up a successful year for the organization, leaving the student body satisfied with the activities presented to them throughout the fall and spring semesters.
